bullet point About DISC bullet point For disabled people and their carers. bullet point

bullet point If you're disabled, or a carer of a disabled person, you may prefer to talk to someone who is themselves disabled.
bullet point Preston DISC is run and controlled by disabled people who are trained to provide information.
bullet point They understand that you need time to talk about your information needs - they won't fob you off - they'll ensure that you have all the information you need, however long it takes.

bullet point Do you sometimes feel that you would like to talk to someone who is independent of other information providers you have dealings with, such as the Benefits Agency, Social Services etc?
bullet point All these organisations are experts in their fields - but Preston DISC is totally independent.

bullet point There is no charge for information or advice - the service is FREE!

bullet point All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence. You can call into the service or make an appointment to see someone privately if you prefer.
bullet point The service operates from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm and an answerphone is in operation out of these hours.

bullet point DISC is always looking for disabled volunteers and people with personal experience of disability to assist in the running of the organisation.
bullet point Training will be given in the skills needed to work in the information service. If you would like more information, please contact Melanie Close, Manager, on telephone 01772 558863.
